Ernest is the CEO and Managing Consultant of CDC Consult Ltd. He has spent the past twenty (20) years working in advisory services. Ten (10) of these years have been spent providing leadership and strategic direction in CDC Consult Limited. He has previously worked in international consulting firms and the financial services sector. Advisory work over the years have focused on the financial services, education, agribusiness, health and tourism sectors. Specific areas of expertise cover the wide ranging areas of risk management and assurance services; capacity building including training, coaching and mentoring; strategic and business planning; local economic development and business to business encounters; management information systems and human resource management. Ernest also has special interest and experience in research and knowledge management where he has led several studies and research assignments including regulation and supervision of microfinance businesses in Ghana, status of consumer protection in the financial sector of Ghana, baseline survey on urban adult financial literacy, baseline survey on rural adult financial literacy and several evaluation as well as impact assessment engagements.
Over the years, Ernest has consulted for several multinational, international and national organizations and business. Beneficiary businesses and organisations include: International Finance Corporation (IFC),World Bank, GIZ, UNDP, USAID, DANIDA, SPEED Ghana, SNV Netherlands Development Organization and African Management Services Company(AMSCO); Newmont Ghana Gold Limited, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Nestle and Promasidor; Plan Ghana, Innovation for Poverty Actions (IPA), Safe Water Network and Marie Stopes International; several financial services providers including rural and community banks, savings and loans companies, credit unions and microfinance companies.
Ernest has an MBA in Finance and Accounting; BSc Administration (Accounting) and is a Chartered Accountant. He has participated in several short courses: Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher by National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), USA; SME – Project Finance, IFC and Bank Consult, India; Training in Microfin, Bering Consult, Washington DC, USA; Business Edge Training of Trainers, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Training Course.
Ernest main passion is to see businesses become sustainable, offering unparallel and responsive solutions to the needs of their clients. He believes interventions have to add value to the beneficiary businesses and their clients otherwise there is no need for advisory service. He is particularly keen on seeing stronger providers in the microfinance, education, agribusiness and health sectors. As a certified entrepreneurship teacher, Senyo is convinced that businesses and organisations can only survive if their offerings add value to their respective clients and beneficiaries.
Akosua has twelve (12) years post degree work experience covering FMCG, telecommunications and outsourcing business. She has spent seven (7) years in consulting practice. She is in charge of CDC Consult's Market Solutions and Organizational Development Line. Her expertise cut across capacity building and training; entrepreneurship and SME development; research in financial services sector including financial literacy, consumer protection and client education.
Akosua is a trained adult trainer with a lot of zeal and passion for training, coaching and mentoring. She has developed and facilitated training in the general areas of productivity skills, marketing and sales skills, entrepreneurship and client service. Specific training delivered over the years include: Leadership and Managerial Skills, Team Building and Attitudinal Change, Business Management, Business Plan Development, Client Service, Consumer Protection, Sales Management, Record Keeping, Financial Education, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Project Management.
In the area of research, Akosua has worked consistently on nationwide research assignments including baseline survey on rural adult financial literacy, study on consumer protection in Ghana's financial sector and market research into low-income private schools in Ghana.
Akosua is passionate about client service and strongly believes that businesses exist primarily to serve their clients and this must be the driving force through all stages in the client management cycle. She has an MBA in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a BA in Social Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Mr. Patrick Koomson is an Agricultural Economist and Value Chain Specialist with over 5 years’ experience working with farmers in maize, soya and pineapple value chains. Patrick has carried out market analysis, agriculture investment analysis, and agriculture produce analysis for selected commodities under projects such as MiDA Agriculture Project for the Southern Horticultural Zone (SHZ) for ACDI/VOCA. He has also in the past undertaken monitoring activities of Technical Service Providers (TSPs) tasked with CDFO training of farmers. He also developed an operation and management manual for the three MiDA pack-houses in the SHZ. As Coordinator of the Torgorme Irrigation Scheme by MiDA, Patrick worked with experts in areas such as Legal, Gender, Environmental, FBO Training, Communication and Outreach, and Irrigation Scheme Management for successful implementation of the project. Patrick has consulted for World Vision Ghana, GIMPA Consultancy Services and Solidaridad in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment and baseline surveys.
Before joining CDC Consult as Head of Research and Knowledge Management, Patrick was the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the USAID FtF Ghana ADVANCE Project. Prior to this, he was the Business Facilitator for maize and soya value chains working with actors in the value chain including producers, input dealers, tractor service providers, financial institutions, aggregators and processors. Key among his responsibilities was to assesses the profitability of the target commodity using market trends (domestic and international commodity prices, local and global demand and supply situations) as well as commodity crop budgets and enterprise budgets for service providers to assess its profitability vis-a-vis import parity. Patrick holds Master of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Ghana, Legon.
Stella has over five (5) years experience in consulting with expertise in accountancy services, risk based internal audit, assurance services, management information systems, strategy and business plan development. She has direct responsibility for managing the firm's outsourced internal audit portfolio. Sectors of consulting experience include microfinance, education and agribusiness.
Stella has specific experience in the development of training materials in soft skills, internal controls, risk management and audit. She has also developed policies and procedures manuals in accounting, human resource management, inventory management and internal audit.
In the area of research and knowledge management, Stella has actively participated in the development of data collection instruments, data collection, analyses and reporting. Research areas include using microfinance for water and sanitation, feasibility study on setting up microfinance investment vehicle, human resource capacity for the microfinance sector and consumer protection in Ghana's financial sector. Stella is keen on supporting clients improve their internal control system and believes that hands on support is a key strategy for ensuring that recommendations are understood and implemented. Stella has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) and is partly qualified ACCA.
Linda is a consultant with over four (4) years’ experience in management consulting. She is currently the head of the Training and Recruitment Management Service Line of CDC Consult Limited. Her expertise covers the key areas of Training Management, Recruitment Management and Research. Clients who have benefitted from consulting engagements conducted by Linda include UNICEF, SNV Netherlands, TF Financial Services, Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, GHAMFIN, Safe Water Network, AMSCO and The Royal Senchi Hotel.
In the specific area of training management, her experience covers the design of training needs assessment tools, design and development of training materials, coaching and mentoring tools, conduct of training needs assessments, provision of support during training. She has supported several clients in the training areas of Leadership and Managerial Skills, Change Management; Team Building; Marketing and Sales as well as Risk Management.
With respect to recruitment management, Linda has focused on the development of compelling search notices, short listing, interview management and placement. Beneficiary clients include businesses in the insurance, microfinance, education and agribusiness sectors.
Linda's work in research has focused mainly on research instrument design, data collection data entry, analysis and report writing. Research assignments include microfinance for water and sanitation, status of consumer protection in Ghana's financial sector, financial literacy, oil and Gas.
Linda is actively carving a career in Human Resource Management as she believes that human resources are the greatest assets any organization can have if they are indeed the right people within that system. She has a first degree in Modern Languages (French Option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and is currently pursuing a professional course in HR with the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana.
Akorfa plays a combination of roles at CDC Consult including consulting, client relationship management and administration. She joined CDC Consult with rich accounting, assurance and management consultancy experience from Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. Her work at CDC Consult Ltd includes overall management of the firm's outsourced service line with specific responsibility for the firm’s outsourced payroll and accountancy portfolio as well as the provision of business advisory services to small businesses.
As a Client Relationship Manager, she manages all correspondences with corporate clients and statutory organisations. She is the contact person for international correspondences and has overall responsibility for office administration. .
Akorfa's major concern is to ensure that support provided to clients contributes significantly to addressing their needs.
Akorfa has a combined bachelor's degree in Economics and Information Studies, ACCA Level 2 and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester.
Lynda is the Administrative Assistant of CDC Consult Limited. She has contributed significantly to structuring the firm's administrative system to ensure that office administration is seamless and fits in well with the busy schedule of the Consulting Team.
Ferdinand has seven (7) years of experience in working in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT). His specialties include Server Administration, Local Area Network (LAN) management and computer hardware maintenance.
Ferdinand has designed, setup and managed various LAN networks in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, and the Northern regions of Ghana. As a results-oriented individual, Ferdinand is passionate about creating change, and is always ready to learn new things.
Ferdinand is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) with a Diploma in Computer Techniques.
Angela is a consultant in the Recruitment & Training Management Service Line of CDC Consult. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Angela’s expertise spans training, recruitment, research and data analysis.
She has gained valuable knowledge and experience in the Microfinance and Banking sector, having worked in the field prior to joining CDC Consult. Her experience is also reflected in her work on projects for organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); Association of Financial Non-Governmental Organizations (ASSFIN); Ghana Association of Microfinance Companies (GAMC); Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies (GHASALC); SNV Netherlands Development Organization; Gesellschaft fϋr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the National Insurance Commission (NIC).
Angela remains an active believer in the training and development of people. She has an ardent interest in Human Resource Management, Training and Coaching and is strategically modelling a career in consulting.
Peter is a consultant with over five (5) years’ experience in Ghana’s Microfinance, Health, Sanitation and Education sectors. His key areas of expertise include field research, data analysis and data management. Peter has worked for several organizations (both Ghanaian and international) including the University of Oxford, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), SNV Netherlands Development Organization, IPA, Solidaridad, RAFiP/Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
Prior to joining CDC Consult, Peter worked as an associate for the firm, undertaking numerous projects, key among them being the Individualised Training and Hands-on Support for Entrepreneurs in Accra and Kumasi for the University of Oxford and IPA and Business Solutions and Microfinance for Basic Sanitation in Ghana for the Government of Ghana and UNICEF WASH Programme. Peter has also led field teams to carry out surveys on assignments like the Education and Labour Force Surveys and Integrated Business Establishment survey (IBES) carried out in Ghana between 2011 and 2014.
Peter currently works as a consultant in the Market Solutions and Organisational Development service line. He is a dynamic team player with a passion for Organisational Development and Poverty Alleviation. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Babilo is a consultant with over fifteen (15) years’ experience in Financial Management, Accounting and Audit Training.
He has gained experience through his work with institutions such as DKF Professionals, Veritax Associates, Ghana Armed Forces and School of Education for the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS). Assignments Babilo has worked on include Training in Excel and Financial Statement Analysis for MFIs and FNGOs; Training in Effective Microfinance and Financial Management; Training of Financial Management for Credit Managers and Relationship Officers from ACDI- VOCA; Development of a Business Management Toolkit for Small Business Owners; Training in Entrepreneurship and Business Management for Owiebi Womens Foundation; and Training of Trainers Workshop for GAMC and GHASALC.
He has also lectured at professional levels in Advanced Financial Management, Advanced Financial Reporting, Financial Management, Financial Reporting and Economics. He has also audited financial statements, reviewed accounting systems and internal control procedures, drawn audit programs and strategies as well as conducted performance risk assessment associated with various client businesses.
Babilo is a Chartered Accountant and Lecturer, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (PGDTLHE). He also holds a BA (Hons) in Economics with Computer Science.
